Our Demons

Start the day with some aggressive electronic dance music. Obviously, that’s a thing you have to be in a pretty specific mood for. It may feel like the entire EDM thing, with all of its movers and shakers, is about two years away from the nostalgia circuit. Still, it gets the blood pumping. So you can party like it’s 2010. Also, there’s the hidden silver lining in the tide of EDM, even for people who don’t relish the resurgence of rave culture; it’s a surprisingly fertile ground for finding exceptional vocal performances. All of those essentially anonymous DJ’s need some human element to make take their mixes to the next level, and it’s given us the careers of Sia, Ellie Goulding, SOFI, Lissie, and many other strong vocalists. This happens to be The Glitch Mob, featuring vocals by Aja Volkman of the indie rock band Nico Vega.
