Mother Goose

Elizabethan rock madrigal, anyone? Jethro Tull have slyly slipped some pretty obscure traditional references into the rock format, for which they’re either adored or dismissed. That depends on how much British folklore you’d like to ingest along with your guitar solos. For me, the answer is ‘a lot’. In fact, give me all the folklore, literary references, old timey instruments, philosophical musings and deranged-country-gentleman codpiece outfits. Give me every surreal picaresque retake of nursery rhymes, with Mellotron and crazy beards on the side.
