I’ve featured this song before, on no less than my best of the year list this season. It’s a catchy radio hit that’s subtle enough not to piss you off after the first few thousand listens. I’ve mentioned that it’s a crowded field in indie pop right now, with cute sibling duos being their own subgenre. It’s gonna take a year or two for the trend tides to wash away the weaklings, leaving only those with lasting talent. Broods have only one album behind them – released last year – bolstered by decent chart rankings, good reviews and an unsolicited blurb from Taylor Swift. Is that enough to grow a career on? We’ve yet to see, but the potential is there.
