Meet Me At Lookout Point

I have, on several occasions, mistaken this for a long lost early Pink Floyd song, and I think you will too. Devendra Banhart has mimicked their sound with uncanny accuracy. I’m not sure if he did it on purpose or just stumbled there. To be clear Banhart is not usually an artist known for being derivative. It fact, he’s wildly inventive and ranges all over the map, sometimes in a matter of minutes. So, in between glam rock inspired uptempo numbers and folk songs sung in Portuguese, it’s hardly surprising to find something that sounds like it escaped from Atom Heart Mother. It’s just another expression of Banhart’s weirdness.
