I couldn’t find a video of Joe Jackson performing Go For It, so instead here’s a bunch of teenagers at, I think, a German music school festival. Joe Jackson is a fine songwriter, but you don’t hear very many covers of his songs. That’s probably because he writes for his own vocal style, which is hard to copy. He has a choppy, almost rap-like delivery, not a melodic singing voice. Jackson’s songs are hard to sing. But this kid nails it. In fact this young group, Heart of Ice, has a whole channel on YouTube where they play the entirety of Body and Soul. Not bad, kids.
