Don’t Bring Me Down

Oh look, another pop song about dysfunctionality. So many great songs sprout from bent relationships. This guy sounds a little masochistic and low-self-esteem-y. The take-home lesson is if everybody had the grace and maturity to maintain healthful relationships there would be nothing to sing about. Because everybody would be all happy and shit. Wouldn’t want that, would we? So go on, and be dysfunctional, and codependent, and immature and selfish. You’re giving someone fodder for their art.
