Eno plus Cale equals dream team. Eno is, famously, a dream collaborator capable of making even a limp dick like Chris Martin sound like a proper artist. Eno did make a series of unique and fantastic solo albums, but decided that plain old pop songs were boring and then spent decades creating pointedly forgettable aural wallpapers. As a producer, his trick was giving other people’s records the echo of his own records.
