
As good as everything else they’ve ever done is, Elephant is still the White Stripes’ masterpiece. After putting out a couple of albums mastering basic garage rock, they finally blossomed into a fully original eclectic sound. Elephant was more musically diverse than any of the previous albums, reflecting a variety of influences, showcasing both Jack’s virtuosity and eccentricity. They’ve always had deep blues rock roots, and on this song it’s especially evident.
