Pin Ups was like a mini vacation from all the usual dark themes. It was an album of covers, featuring Bowie’s favorite songs from the sixties. It was critizied for its broad campy vocal style, which pushed the usual Ziggy squawk into the realm of self parody. It was one of the first all covers albums by a rock musician, foreshadowing what is now a huge trend. The model on the album cover is Twiggy.
